Maps of water mains and sewers

To help you build safely, we can provide you with a copy of our plans showing the approximate location of our water mains and sewers near to your house or development site.

What will the service provide?

Our plans are available at a scale of 1:2500 based on the x and y co-ordinates provided and in the following sizes: A4 (297 x 210 mm), A3 (420 x297 mm) and A0 (1189 x 841 mm).

Our maps don’t show where properties’ private connections join our network. As we adopted private lateral drains as part of the 2011 transfer, many aren’t plotted on our maps.

Sewer traces are strongly recommended prior to excavating or building.

How long will it take?

If you apply online, once we receive payment our team will generate and return the plan to you within 5 working days.

How much will it cost?

Water and sewerage plans come separately at £6.78 each. While our plans can be provided in three different sizes, each size is £6.78 each. To apply online you’ll need a valid debit or credit card.

It's important to note

For some areas, we aren’t the correct organisation to ask for public water and sewerage plans.

  • In terms of public water plans, you’ll need to contact Hafren Dyfrdwy for Heswall, Neston, Whitchurch in Shropshire, Chester and Wrexham.
  • For public sewerage plans you’ll need to contact Severn Trent for parts of Ledbury, Worcester and Knighton.
